I have finished draft three (according to saved files in on my desktop) of Bischoff Black book two!
YAY!
I feel excited every time I get to the end of a draft. I’m one step closer to publication! The story will continue on! It wasn’t all a hopeful dream of becoming an author, it is my reality.
With this draft, book two is a complete story. There are no missing sections I saved for later to work on. I connected each chapter with the next so it flows correctly. I’ve made notes of hints and nuggets of foreshadowing and where they need to go. The best part was the new ideas that came about through the process. What I love about those moments, is that it fills in a ‘hole’ in the story I hadn’t figured out yet. This also happened as I finished the detailed maps of each location. It makes me love my story even more!
Stay tuned for more updates as I keep editing. I’ve sent off this draft to a trusted soul for feedback. Then after another round of editing, I’ll send it off for developmental editing with Ramona (click here for her website). Then comes the tedious process of fine tuning the story and sentences. Though I do feel I’m able to catch a lot more bad habits as I edit each draft.
Status as of right now: Word Count: 49,800 Page Count: 144
While I take a short break from book two, I’ll focus on the cover art, so I can reveal the title!
I like having a couple things going at once. Makes me feel like I’m making progress. 🙂
Until Next time – Happy reading!
