First off: I’m running behind on just about everything. The one thing I didn’t take into account was my excellent talent of avoiding editing. My other downfall, avoiding something by trying something new and exciting!
Secondly: My new and exciting obsession is going great! I think I’m nearly done with the new cover! I love it! But, of course, I’m looking at second opinions to make sure it has all come together correctly. Either way, I’m excited to be done with one step in the second edition process.
As for editing, I’m struggling. I start to edit and get caught up trying to change every sentence. I can’t help it. I keep thinking, I can make it better. Therefore, I’m barely on chapter 5. There is a long long way to chapter 47. I’m still grateful I could have it edited by someone else.
The task ahead is to edit with a singular focus – change only what is necessary. I hope this will speed up the process and I can meet my goal of relaunching by the end of the year. I’m not sure it will happen, but I’m going to try. The question is can I edit quickly and take part in writing 50k words for November? I guess we’ll find out.
